The Phillies went 1-2 over the weekend as they took on the Brewers. Domonic Brown continued his stellar play and his hot month landed him some more hardware. The Eagles wrapped up OTA’s on Friday and there is still no leader in the quarterback competition. However, the Eagles may have given a bit of a clue on Friday. The Sixers are still without a head coach but a former 76er may be available to speak with. The Flyers added two new prospects to the fold, including a coveted winger.

Phillies:

The Phillies were paid a visit this weekend by the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers came into Philly with a 19-33 record and started off the series with Yovani Gallardo on the hill. The Phillies countered with Cole Hamels. Despite losing in five starts in a row, Gallardo got the win against the Phillies as the Brewers beat the Phils 8-5. As the calendar turned on Saturday, the Phils looked to bounce back sending Tyler Cloyd to the mound to face Wily Peralta. The Brewers arm threw seven strong innings en route to a 4-3 Brewers win. The Phillies tried to salvage the series by sending Cliff Lee to the mound on Sunday. Lee was opposed by Mike Fiers who was roughed up by the Phillies in 1.2 innings pitched as he allowed 7 runs. The Phillies won 7-5.

Domonic Brown continued his stellar play over the weekend with 4 runs, 6 hits, 3 homeruns and 4 rbi’s over the weekend. Today he was named National League Player of the Month and is now on pace for 45 homeruns and 114 rbi’s.

Tonight the Phillies open up a three game set with the Miami Marlins with Kyle Kendrick on the mound.

The Eagles wrapped up their OTA’s on Friday and will begin full-team minicamp on Tuesday. CSNPhilly.com unofficially tallied that Quarterback Nick Foles took more snaps with the first team than Michael Vick. The Eagles have remained silent on who the leader is in the starting quarterback competition.

Eagles Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson parted ways with agent Drew Rosenhaus last week. Jackson negotiated a 5-year $51 million contract extension last year with Rosenhaus. An NFL Source confirmed the firing to CSNPhilly over the weekend following an initial report by Philadelphia Magazine. Rosenhaus is hoping to resolve their issues. Jeff McLane, of The Philadelphia Inquirer, reported that Jackson is looking to sign with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.

Sixers:

According to reports, the Memphis Grizzlies, are considering replacing Lionel Hollins who led the team to an appearance in the Western Conference Finals. Despite falling to the Spurs, the Grizzlies opened eyes even in light of trading their star, Rudy Gay, to the Toronto Raptors midseason. Hollins has reportedly been granted permission to speak with other teams and it will be interesting to see if he is on the Sixers radar. Hollins played for the 76ers from 1980-82.

Reports have linked the Sixers to Brian Shaw, the Indiana Pacers assistant who will begin interviewing with teams after the Pacers’ postseason run, and Kelvin Sampson, a Rockets’ assistant coach. New Sixers GM and President, Sam Hinkie, worked for the Rockets prior to coming to Philadelphia.

The Flyers kicked off the weekend on Friday announcing two signings. The team signed 20-year-old defenseman, Maxim Lamarche and 24-year-old Austrian winger Michael Raffl. The Flyers won out against several teams interested in Raffl’s services after he caught attention following a stellar performance against Russia in the World Championships.
